Today I was strolling thru memory lane over some of the missed opportunities Our Republic has had, but chose to discard into the trash bin of History..One name came to mind, a name which most People will not know. The name I speak of his Harry Brown.
Who is Harry Brown you're probably asking, well let me divert to someone You will know, as a way to summarize, who Mr Brown is for You...
Have You heard of Ron Paul....You probably have and if You have heard of him, then You must know that Mr Paul has some interesting views that many people like, balanced budget, reduced Federal wasteful spending and so on...
So, what does Mr Paul have to do with Mr Brown, well a lot actually. Both Men shared very similar views on Governance and Politics, the difference is ,You know one and the other is unknown, to You. Mr Brown defined himself as a True Conservative, not a religious or socially obsessed wacko, but a true Conservative. During His political career, the Republican Party had no room for men of His type. Mr. Brown became a Libertarian. Mr Paul is a Republican, but walks and talks like a Libertarian, while, in my opinion, hiding out with Republicans, but trying to bring change to the Party from the inside out.
Mr Brown ran for President 2 times and got My vote and with many others, yeah We only received less than 1% Nationally, but this was a beginning, a foundation for Others, a defeat that was coupled with a desire to not give up. Many of Those people re-joined the Republican Party and They have been backing Mr Paul, since. And from what has transpired this electoral year of 2012, Their efforts have energized many People, into taking a hard look at the Republican Party, to see why its not more appealing.
Mr Paul, like Reagan, chose to stay inside the Republican Party and try to force, the Party's course back to True Classical Liberalism/Conservative.{Classical liberalism is a political ideology that advocates limited government, constitutionalism, rule of law, due process, individual liberties including freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and free markets. Oh for the new People, a Conservative person, minus the social issue pandering, if you subtract those annoyances, you end up with a Libertarian. Don't think so, then prove me wrong and research the terms, You will be surprised to find out what a “Republican” is supposed to be.

I said I was thinking over things and I decided to see if there was a Harry Brown presence on Facebook, even though he has passed away, to my surprise, there is a Harry Brown page. I looked over the Facebook page and liked a post, I read and posted a comment, to His post. I decided that I would re-post Those posts here, but with some back story, first, so this post had more meaning to the reader and I hope I have accomplished that for You. As a child from a Police Family, this is what I tell People about abuse of power, from Public Official to Police Officers running thru intersections..... Father to Me,"No Cops can't just drive fast, to save a person's Life, that would be breaking the Law..."..Son, "That's dumb"... Father, "No Son, A Person can not break the Law to enforce the Law"..... To Me, the same principle applies to those We elect and to those We extend privileges to, to help maintain Law & Order in Our Republic.....You can't break a Law to enforce a Law.. ..
I re-read what I wrote and became saddened by it, why because so many People today do not think or understand My Father's words....Maybe this is also a part of the recipe that has allowed Us to devolve into the state We find Ourselves in these days. People looking out for only Their party, Themselves and the Hell to Everyone else. They act like, “Cops didn't see it, I didn't do it”.
I'll be a bit more honest with All of You. None of You know Me and will say I bull crap or I am lying, You are always entitled to that, but knowing that You might say those things will not stop Me from saying the following about Myself.
I have been called, Free Spirit, disciplined, Honest to a Fault and so on, but what separates Me from so many is this. I, 99% of the time do what is right, not what benefits Me, but what is right. A new friend said, after We talked about things, told this to Me,”You do what is right even when it's not a benefit to You and that I like and its rare, You do know that”..
I said,”Yeah I do, but its the cop in Me. Justice above all for All ..My Dad infected Me. Lol”..My Father never once knelt down to a superior Officer just to make brownie points towards a promotion. Never. His morality, some how found a home inside Me and I have done so many things, that have not benefited Me. These days I find myself thinking how it might have been, if I only had knelt once, but I stop and think, no matter what happens, I will always know that, I Stood as a Free and Good Man, even when it was in My best interest to kneel.
Stupid, might be, but its Me and I have fewer years ahead of Me these days, so why change such a winning path.. Lol... My Grand Children will hopefully inherit My sense of Justice and that is a step forward...
Mr Goldwater, was a step forward and Mr Reagan was another step forward. So was Mr Brown and now Mr Paul. I know there will be others, that will step up to hold the gates, to push the gates forward one more step, to push the greedy selfish jealous Hordes back, just one more foot, just one more step.
Defending Liberty is a never ending line, handed down from Father to son or to neighbors Son or to a strangers Son. The mind set of defending Liberty is not bound solely by Blood but by an inner will, a desire to make this Nation, this World a better place for Ourselves, but not exclusively to Ourselves.
Men do not run out to fight an enemy, just to help a lazy neighbor, They do it because Their fight helps Others to Live Free and Those not fighting, Those that Live on, hopefully They will step up or Their children will step up, to take the place of the Fighter. And People like Me, know those Others will come and take My Place, when I am gone and hopefully, They will gain more ground, than I did. Our Fight against the Liberty Thieves will never end and knowing that it will never end, People Like Me will also never give up...
Well I have to go for now and like I said above, crazy way to think and crazy way to lead My Life isn't it, but sleep tight I got this, for You, for now.
